Welcome to the ongoing story of Beroun!

The History of Beroun, Mn.

This website will be a continuation of the book about the history of Beroun. The book was based on the 1938 book compiled by Joe Kub and his 8th grade class. There were two original copies made of the book. Both were type written with original photos pasted to the top of the pages. It was too rare and fragile to not try to preserve the information, so it was my endeavor to reproduce an updated account of our towns history. Without the wonderful talents and expertise of Judy Scholin, the book would have never been possible. I cannot thank her enough for all the time, and energy she put into it. It is a real treasure for anyone who has roots in our little town of Beroun.

The book itself tells the story of the hard working founders of the town and includes photos of each of the businesses. This website will focus more on the people themselves and any piece of information that might have been left out of the book. I will continue to add information periodically.

The book is available at Sauser's Hardware in Pine City and at my shop in Beroun: Peg Skalicky 320-629-6324

If any information is wrong, email me at pegskalicky@hotmail.com, I will make the necessary changes. If the font looks funky on some of the pages, that's because it changes when I try publishing it.

This photo was taken during the Harvest Day Festival sometime in the late 30's or early 40's. The parade is heading down mainstreet. The only buildings standing there today are the Mission Creek Town Hall and The Hinckley Flames Snowmobile Club.

My dad was born in 1931. I'm pretty sure that the boy with the white shirt and hands in his pocket is my dad. Looks just like him.
